Clonking noise

FYI i took a brand new (50kms) V7ii stone for a test ride yesterday and experienced the clunk when going from neutral to first and pulling away. Almost like the clunk of gears or transmission engaging. I dont remember this on the 5 speed bike.

Furthermore the clutch on the test bike was very stiff. Worse than my old 996 duke by a fair way and had me flapping my wrists a few times to avoid arm-pump.

My V7i had a light clutch from what i recall. Hopefully just needs some adjustment.

I'll ask the dealer about it as they have a well regarded mechanic in the shop.

Do check with the dealer, or someone else with experience on these bikes. If anything, the clutch on my '16 Stone is lighter than on my previous '13 Stone. Engagement is also smoother. No clunks on either one. In fact, no complaints of any kind. Great bikes.

When I put my V711 in gear from neutral even from cold after being stood for a couple of weeks it's so quiet and smooth I have to check the neutral light to see if it's in gear, not the lightest of clutches but no probs. Some of the latest bikes have slipper clutches and a ramp in the release system to make them very light to operate. Steve.

I am not talking about noise when egaging 1st gear ,it is like butter in all V7ii's ,clonkig comes when you release the clutch lever.......
