Image After reading Todds advice that Bub mufflers give a better performance increase than any other mod.
Thanks Todd.
I fitted up a pair of Mig 50mm race core mufflers i had laying around to the Cali today.
Sorry Todd,no sale.
They released a really deep rumble, but to my surprise are not too loud on the road.
The inlet noise from the open airbox lid still drowns out the note above third gear.
The torque increase throughout the rev range is very noticable and i lost 3 kg,s in the process.
I like the look and the total cost was $0.

Would a power commander add much more torque?
Can you buy one with a map already installed for this setup?
I would prefer not to have the hassle and cost of a dyno tune.
Has anyone added a PC after fitting pipes and airbox mod?

Nice, I have a personal preference for Carbon pipes (sound/looks just seem better than steel variants) however it's not so easy to make a conical shape with the carbon weave.

Would love to see some reverse cones fabricated from Carbon with stainless ends and maintaining the same size as stainless pipes.

Still, it's interesting that not a single manufacturer (to my knowledge) make a set like this.

Carefully re-read the posting, and click on all of the underlined links. Muffler selection is important. Fixing the fueling is paramount. Yes I can offer a pre-mapped PCIII, however since that article and the PC-V & AutoTune, they have proven that every engine has very unique requirements, so personal map building has shown highly beneficial. Also, per the article; If you haven't already read my piece on Power Commanders, please take the time to do so. Dyno chart below is fairly stock vs. the mods I suggest.

It would take some customizing, which I can do, but Mistral has some that would be close. Won't be cheap.

Hi Todd
Thanks for the reply.
I have read all your reports on the PC111 and do understand how they work.
I have one fitted to my Sp1(rc45) race bike with similiar dyno figure improvements to the graph you show times two.
I agree that figures dont tell the whole story. The improvement in throttle response and crispness to power delivery has to be experienced.
But by how much on a Cali?

I was hoping to hear somones personal view about fitting a Pc111 after they had already experienced the improvement of better mufflers, crossover and air filter.Generic map versus tuned etc.
I have no doubt a PC will sort out the fuelling properly.
I am trying to gauge/justify the cost/benefit of fitting one already mapped.
Knowing that i will probably then want to get it dyno mapped to get it spot on.
I live a long way from any tuning link centres and my local guy charges like a wounded bull for dyno time.He is good though.

Can you please supply a price inc shipping to Aus with a suitable generic map. Please supply details.

Those Mistral pipes would be lovely but i dont even want to know how much.
I guess this is what you would like to see On your Cali Jorge?

Cheers
