Seems the 130/80-17 Pirelli Scorpion Trail II radial I was hoping to put on my new Kineo rims won't be ready until May. Only other radial option is a 140/70-17 thanks to the 250/300cc sport bikes. Anyone successful in fitting one of these to their V7, meaning clearance wise once in? I realize rear drive removal would be required to fit, which I'll deal with. Plan is to use it only until the 130/80 PirScorpT II is available.

I ordered a set of Slipstone Battlax Hypersport S20 Evo "Ultra High Performance" Radials yesterday. Rear is a 140/70-17, and 120/70-17 front for my 3.5x17 new Kineo front rim.
Dunlop makes a GPR-300 Sportmax radial set which I'd love to try, but the front only in a 110/70-17.
I will be putting the stock rear size Pirelli on when it becomes available. I have the PirScorpT II in a 120/70-17 on the shelf and waiting.

I'd also like to find some radials. I found Bridgestone Battlax BT54 in the 130 size for the rear, but the front is a 110, which might be ok. The Bridgestone website says the tyres are designed 'for big bikes'.
At least we're legally allowed to mix different brands front and rear in the UK. What about in the US?

Non issue for us. Outside of an annual "safety" inspection to insure roadworthiness, no such checks are performed like in the UK. Here in the Southwest there is zero checks done, ever. Hope it stays that way.

I've just fitted a set of continental road attack 2s, to my cafe classic. They're in the standard sizes. When it stops raining/snowing I'll post how they perform :)

Exciting! Thanks for posting. I just had a check on the Continetal website and they are indeed radials in the standard sizes. How did they compare price-wise?
I look forward to hearing how they work out - definitely interested in getting some.

I bought the Continental tyres from the internet - I think it was tyreleader.com.
They were around £160 for the pair, delivered. Not the cheapest set of tyres available but they get good reviews. The local bike shop fitted them for £10.
Went for a quick spin today, only about 20 miles but in cold, damp conditions they were very grippy and in a different league from the lasertecs that I had previously.

Thanks for the update. That price is probably less than for a pair of the Pirelli Sport Demons that come with the recent V7s.

Yes, the 140/70-17 fits using the Kineo 3.75” wheel. About 3/16" clearance to the swingarm.

The new Moto Guzzi Bobber has a 130/90-16 Continental on the front and a 150/80-16 rear. I wonder how that would be on a V7?
Just a though...
The V9 has a wider front end and swing arm. They won't fit/work on a V7, even if you bought the V9 wheels.

you put on 160/80/17 tires on the rear?? i have those same rims and wand wondering if i was able to put 140/80/17 and have no rim issues or clearance issues

Will this tire fit on the standard V7 non spoked wheels? Are they a handling upgrade or fashion?
Likely; 140/70R17 - Recommend rim width: 4.00” Rim range: 3.50~4.50” OD: 627 Width: 144mm - stock rear rim is 3.50”
It is certainly a performance upgrade, but the trade off is no matching front, and the tire is substantially shorter, which means less ground clearance, so that’s a downside. Honestly the Conti RA3 radials are a super solid tire, and massive upgrade over the older Pirellis, and Dunlops as delivered on the newest V7s.
