C14 Muffler - Cat removal

In an effort to give my bike a little more rumble I'm removing the cats. This is just until I have the funds to get complete new exhaust. Has anyone else done this yet?
 
This was really easy and I did drill out the spot welds on the small baffle about 4 inches post cat and removed it. That only leaves the one baffle that could be drilled while on the bike.
 
A little more detail would be great. I also would like a little more 'rumble'. But nothing like what I hear on Youtube...

I'll be digging into set of these to possibly offer up for sale. I'll show them apart and what to modify.
 
I'm pretty interested in this. I think the stock cans suit the lines of the bike more than any aftermarket exhaust I've seen.

I wouldn't mind a little more rumble myself but the You Tube clips I've seen of aftermarket exhaust seem a little on the loud side like my old Ducati GT1000. It sounded great for a little while but got annoying on a long ride.
 
It actually made quite a difference at idle, the exhaust pulses are a lot more distinguishable. Off idle tho still whisper quiet. The next logical thing to do is to insert a long drill into the end and drill a hole. Starting small of course and increasing as you want more noise. I'm hesitant though, it will be irreversible and my luck I would develop a whistle and sound like tweety bird flying down the highway.

OK, so I modified a set completely, including drilling out the rest of the mufflers. Video below.
85 db at idle, 95 db at 3k RPM steady, and a loud 110 db at quick jab of the throttle at close range. We also did a set of LaFranconi Competizione versions, with the same db results (db-killers out) but with a a slight deeper sound. Internally they are identical internally to stock (including cat-cons), outside of the removable db-killer and end propeller design element.

A little more flow, less heat while retaining the mellower tone.

I didn't run them without drilling through the baffle plate, but I'd imagine it will still be quite quiet even with the cat-cons gone. Let me know if you'd like to do a set. You can bring the bike out to the shop, just need to schedule the time in on my end.

Per above, the mufflers must be cut apart, drill out the welds on the baffle plate, and welded back together.

I saw the video of the "non-cat" mufflers you posted. Maybe I haven't looked closely enough, but I can't see how someone removes the cat converter inside the muffler without cutting the thing open. Does the end cover at the rear come out to allow access? No, even that wouldn't work. The only way I can see to remove the catalyst is to cut through it with a hole saw and then collapse it in on itself so it can be pulled out of the muffler intake end. Yet Clayton seems to have removed his seemingly intact. For the more ignorant among us, what's up?
 
FYI, it is a absolute waste of time removing the cats for more noise as it does very little, if anything, in that department. But, remove the cat, the baffle behind it, and them drill the rear like Todd did and it is freaking awesome!! I highly recommend sending your mufflers to Todd for this, it is worth it if you want what I call the perfect sound.

I am not really interested in more sound. I have some Mistral Carbon mufflers that do that very well. I was thinking of maybe cooling down the stock mufflers by taking out the catalyst.
