Hi all, I'm considering getting back into Moto Guzzi with the California 1400 Touring and noticed a new 2014 in stock at Pro Italia, Glendale, CA. They're a good outfit and I would not hesitate to buy my third bike from them. What differences are there between the '14 and a new '16? The savings is substantial- $5,000.00 off MSRP. Here's a link, thanks for any guidance on this. Norm

The add says "no warranty". I would think that NOS would come with the standard warranty. That's the only issue I would have with the deal. And see if they will sell you accessories at cost, that's what my dealer did to sweeten the deal.

If it really is a new, never titled bike, it should come with a warranty as Clayton states. If it doesn't, walk away.

In one case: "14 miles New with factory warranty"

In another case in the same ad: "This vehicle is sold “as-is” with no warranty, written or implied."

The advertisement seems to be "boiler plate" copy. I would expect to see the details regarding warranty (in writing) as part of the sales agreement.

I just purchased a 2014 custom from a 'near by' dealer who obtained the bike from Guzzi. The savings was substantial and included the full warranty.

Even if there are differences the savings (as long as there is a warranty) would be worth it. Besides the issues with the 2014 are known & discussed on this forum where as if there have been changes to the 2016 you may be facing a whole new range of unknowns.

Nice looking sled. My guidance would be to buy it today. A 5K savings is not chump change. Use the savings to buy a bike lift, US forged tools, a Kimber 1911 and a new pocket knife. Well you did ask for guidance. I am not very good at moderation.
I'm sure it must have the factory warranty.

I just bought one from a dealer (2014 leftover) and it has the factory warranty. Under 14K delivered.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Much appreciated. I was just told by a dealer that the California 1400 Touring is no longer being made, and they are just selling off built inventory. Anybody have any confirmation or details on this?

Thanks, Norm

My dealer told me that the Touring was not going to be brought to the USA. He did not say why he could not source a 2016 Custom.

Well that's interesting. As of right now I am doubting it however. There are several web bike magazines that have reviews of what they state is "The 2016 Moto Guzzi California". The Guzzi US website also shows the Touring, the Touring SE, and the Custom, all laid out on the page that shows all of the bikes they make including the new V9 variants.
Not buying the rumor until I hear something more definitive...
Kirk

I don't see the Touring SE on the US site. The brochure on the Moto Guzzi site is from 2015. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong site?
