Griso 1100 service warning problem

I have a problem with my 2007 Griso 1100, I have the Fault codes from the dashboard # 1 -7 (only missing the oil pressure and low oil faults). These claim to be the immobilizer (wrong key), Immobilizer (no key), immobilizer antenna, immobilizer (internal control), fuel sensor and air temp. The Air Temp sensor has 5 volts coming in and responds to changes in air temp (although optimistically, realistically it reads +/- 5 degrees according to thermometers <2 meters away when parked as well as when compared to other motorcycles I'm riding with). The Fuel light (reserve) comes on when it should and goes off when it's been satisfied.
Last month I registered 300 kph in 3rd gear while riding alongside a 1957 Triumph twin and he kept up with me nicely, thank you very much. Since then I've had 2 occasions to be traveling at 6500 rpm in 6th while the speedometer read 0 kph. 2 or 3 times a week the SERVICE notice is flashed, but, if you turn the key off and then restart it goes away.
Everything I can figure out how to test comes up as being good.... is it possible that the dashboard is failing?
2 months after I bought it there was condensate under the plastic of the dash and I was told it would cause problems later but that it wasn't covered by the warranty. Could this be the corrosion that started from that?
I live on an Island with no MG dealer (we're now serviced by Ducati, when they feel like it) so any ideas to test would be appreciated.
Thanks, David

Was it raining or had you recently washed the bike? Sounds like the speedo sensor has got wet. Known issue on early CARC bikes. Dry it out and seal it with varnish or silastic or some such and see if that solves it. There is a new sensor available but most people seem to cure it easily by sealing the early sensors.

No, hot (31 C) and dry, hadn't rained in about 2 months (if it was wet the Triumph would have been hiding). Will check the sensor against further aggravation, though, thanks

Did you check the connector going to the dashboard? maybe it's a bit loose or corroded. How much water did you get into the dashboard. A small amount of condensation shoud not be a problem but if it's enough to house a pet goldfish to take allong for the ride then your in trouble.

Also check the ground strap behind the starter and any others you can locate. Flaky reading can come from poor grounds.

Thank you for your advice. Over the weekend I disassembled enough of the Griso to check all the contacts at the dashboard and at their other ends (ECU, etc.) plus all the starter, battery and ground connections. I didn't find any loose or corroded wires (I try to keep an eye out for corrosion) but when I finished the "service wrench" on the display was gone, haven't checked to see if the errors are still in the dashboard or not.
I did find some bundled wires going from the Dash to the ECU that had been rubbing against the nut for the horn (Throttle side) and the nut mounting the horn bracket which had eaten through the black, flexible conduit but the wires seemed undamaged.
One fun thing is that when I restarted it the odometer read "0", not the trip meter, the cumulative mileage. It was counting normally from 0 all Saturday evening and when I shut it off for the night it read 325 Km. Sunday morning it was back, correct, at 34, 560 Km and has remained steady since.
The condensation in the dash was enough to form droplets and obscure all info below the 2000 RPM mark (side stand light and everything beneath the Odometer reading) but not enough to slosh from side to side. (It'd have to be a frugal Goldfish.)

It sounds like you need to repair the dash. There is a good posting on the forum on how to do that. The condensation can ruin the dash unit. As for the codes. They will remain resident until cleared. Go to maintenance, enter the service code and clear the faults. Then see if any re-appear later.
