LMIII Swingarm for T3

I would like to use the 20mm longer LMIII swingarm on my T3 project bike.

Is this purely bolt on--swingarm, driveshaft and I suppose shocks if the lower mounts are 20mm back with the additional length?

Sounds like an easy handling mod so was surprised that I couldn’t find any discussion about it. Seems that the additional length would, at least ever so slightly, diminish final drive induced jacking and squatting which I am concerned with as this bike will spend most of its run time on the track and I do not want to spend the $ for floating the final drive.

Am I missing something?
 
I've never sampled them but I've been told the Tonti's had 3 different swingarm lengths with Cali being the longest.

The only thing I'd be thinking about is would a longer arm not slow the steering making the bike more stable but less prone to turn in?

Which I wouldn't have thought would be a track bike goal

BUT I'm talking from things I've only heard so I could be utterly wrong, JZ I'm sure will come around with hard facts

The swing arm will be an easy bolt up. As to Old Jock's comment on turn in, that is most effected by trail of the front wheel. Trail can be adjusted by steering head angle, and length of forks below the triple tree. I've owned T3s, California bikes, and still have my LeMans. All handle reasonably well. It isn't so much the bike that makes you fast, it is the skill of the rider that is the major factor.

My most common hazardous mistake is a mid corner too-abrupt throttle position change that unloads a tire and scares the snot out of me. Since this bike will be less forgiving about that than my other bikes I thought this would be an easy mod to lessen the torque jacking a wee bit.

I grew up just a couple of miles from a European motorcycle dealer that sold everything that I couldn't afford so I can't wait to ride a 70s' Moto Guzzi on the race track!

Have you been through a track school yet such as California Super Bike School or similar? They do emphasize throttle control which may help your changing throttle in a curve. I know these schools helped me to become a quicker and better rider.
