I ordered a new headlight for my V7 since the stock one is so lame.

The new headlight have the standard 3 wire plug and the original have a 4 wire plug.

So what color wire is for the low and high beams and the parking light. I know black would be the ground.

Wiring diagrams for Guzzi's are more like guidelines, really. Wire colors may vary from bike to bike of the same model. Depends on what's on the shelf.

Thanks guys, so blue for ground, I can deal with that. If I screw this up, that's why we have a thing called a fuse.

Thanks for the warning, I'm sure I''ll blow a few fuses or bulbs before I figure out how they were thinking at the factory that day.

I've got one, only the 4th wire for the parking light is hot all the time, which makes it guess work without the wire code.

E bay, Moto Guzzi headlight for 16.99, out of California. They have one that cost more out of China, same light.

Got my e bay China made headlight today. The bucket part of it's a bit more formidable then the stock bucket, twice as thick plastic on the inside holding ring, that's the part that broke on the OEM one. The clear plastic lens and chrome ring part of it looks a little cheaper then the OEM set up, but not something that would jump out at you once mounted on the bike. It's a three prong set up, so I end up having to make an adapter from the 4 way square plug to the 3 way standard plug. I'll plug it in tonight and see how it throws the light, can't imagine it would be any different then the stock set up. It's the same basic principle with that plastic chrome deflector inside of it with a clear lens. It doesn't have that parking light, no big deal, never use that thing anyway. I can't ever remember being in a situation that I would need a front parking light. Reflective clothing and reflectors on the bike are good enough for me.

Once again good 411 found here . I'm installing a headlight relay kit & w/batt. removed wasn't sure , now on to the volt meter farkle .
