New Rack for my V7

So I wanted a rack for my V7 but found the Guzzi offerings et al too big and bulky for my needs. No intention of putting a hideous top box on, I just needed an extension to the back of my seat and little bit of side bar to keep my Giant Loop rear bag secure. So here is the result, bear in mind also that my standard rear light has been moved higher and forward towards the seat. The rear fender is also shorter and indicators slimmed to make a neater rear end.

Looks good.

I have the Guzzi OEM rear rack that replaces the passenger bars and am really happy with it. Not inexpensive, but fits perfectly and is said to be of higher quality, especially less prone to rust, than third party alternatives.

I also have a Kriega US 20, a brilliant bag, that I have attached to the frame under the seat, but can also attach using the rear rack. To avoid any chance of abrasion to metal parts, I'm currently using gaffer tape, but one could also use transparent tape (popular with bicyclists, known generically as helicopter tape), which Kriega recommends to people who are concerned about this issue.

I need to be able to carry some very expensive camera and audio recording gear on my bike, which needs to be protected from at least low speed drops/crashes. To accomplish this, I'll be looking in the next couple of days at some of the smaller Pelican cases. When it comes to securing a Pelican case, it looks like Rok Straps are the answer.

Any issues welding the oem grab rails? I'very got the chrome version, but was considering welding onto them to make some racks for my givi e21s.

Nice work with that rack!
I have also narrowed the rear indicators on my V7 - and the front ones.
What is the small screen?

Just rubbed the chrome down prior to welding which was a lot of work doing the complete rack and grinding down the welds.

It's the Dart screen that I trimmed as I didn't like the taller shape.
