Hello everyone. New V7II Special owner. Love the bike even though it has 1/2 the hp of my previous Ducati. Plan on taking care of fuelling and suspension first.

I noticed an oil leak while doing the first service, and am fairly certain it is coming from the alternator wiring grommet at the timing cover. A guy who works in the same building as me has a V7 Stone, and he also has a leak bigger that mine.

Just wondering what others are experiencing. I will be taking it apart to try to fix it.

Thx.

Happy V7II owner here, no leak (yet), but I'll follow this thread and hope to learn what the problem is, and what to do about it if I ever get a similar leak.

My 2016 V7 II started leaking in the same area at roughly the same mileage. Take it to the dealer for warranty work. The dealer will likely not have the replacement part in stock and it'll take them a week to get it, and a day of labor to replace it, so plan accordingly;)

So I it looks like I fixed my leak. I removed the cover, and cleaned up any signs of the old sealant from around the grommet. Then carefully applied new sealant to it. I just re-used the metal gasket between engine and cover. It was in good shape.
