Has anyone ran into a problem or can help installing a small rack (2S000256) on a V7 Special? Such as the rack can't be installed with the hand rails on and the molded fender really only has room for one bolt on each side and not two... (wish I would have taken photos).
Thanks,
Rod

I know exactly what you are talking about, i ran into the same problem. It was a major pain. What you basically need to do if you want to keep the grab bars, is modify the rack mounting brackets to make room, otherwise that interference does not allow you to line up the holes. Secondly, take the ribbed/webbed support underneath the fender and basically cut out a hole right next to the existing hole so that you have room to mount the second bolt. I'm telling you it was a really hard thing to do, but i got the damn thing on and I really like the results.. check it out.. i will send close ups when i get home. these photos i had in my phone already.

Wow it looks great on your bike! It is a nice looking rack, but it just doesn't fit on a 2015 V7 Special with out mods.
I ended up sending it back. Before I sent it back I got a hold of AF1 and talk to them with some photos of the problems. AF1 agreed after looking in to it, and figured out some ways of getting it to work... But agreed sending it back may be a good idea. At this time I think I may go with out a rack on this bike.:)

Note that the H&B rack has side pieces that serve as grab rails. They're not as beefy as the OEM grab rails, but they are there.

My dealer installed this OEM rack, which replaces the grab rails, and as far as I know it does not present installation problems (indeed, I wasn't even charged for installation).

I've had the dealer fit the OEM rack to my Special, and am now wondering about a top box. I'm not sure about the looks of the Givi and H&B offerings, nor whether they'll fit easily on the rack. What do you all think?
