Thx for the pictures Carl. In chatting with Daviz it sounds like the cowl will work with the 2-up seat which would make it perfect. I am wondering how well the fiberglass will hold up over time but I do like the look. He does some really nice work.

No covers/guards yet I'm afraid. I think Todd was mentioning he was waiting for the covers (think they arrived this week) and then they would be off to the painter. I suspect that will take the balance of this week so I am actually thinking I may get them later next week. If Todd read this he may comment for us.
Hey you are welcome, if I had any complaint about it I would say the paint job could be better , it kinda scratches up easy, that typical black paint swirl of scratches that one gets from cleaning etc. So if you have a good body shop or painter near you just buy the ready to paint version.

Hi! Daviz Morales calling!

Sorry to hear that, Carl. I really don't do the paint job. Anyway, yours is the first complain I read about this issue. Anyway, I don't earn a penny with the painting, so I have just planned not to offer the painting as an option; yours is just the motivation I needed :(. Everybody should have a painter next to him to take the cover (or whatever) to get it painted, with the warranty of getting the required and desirable finish. So if during the travel the paint gets any scratch, I can't make anything to fix it... A problem for me and for the customer.

So, here I am if you or someone wants any info. I'll be glad to talk about.

Just one more thing:

The newest Guzzi seat (1.5-up) is not compatible with the cover I sell. I have just find out. The cover is obviously made for the solo seat, but it fits the 2-up too. Never had any report about unclipping while riding or so. It's easier to detach, but hard enough to be released accidentally. That's my experience and those from others since 2011, the year I made the first cover.

Hmmmm... Sorry my English. I hope you understand me right :)

Hi Daviz - I will take my chances with the paint! :)
I have been writing you about your "kit". Waiting to hear from you if you think that will work with the aluminum fender I hope to use with it.

Hi Davis,
How much would you charge for one of these seat cowls, posted to UK?
Thanks.

Image Image I made this fly screen today out of an old helmet visor. Cost absolutely nothing and I think it looks better than the original tart's handbag!

Image Image Image Image Latest fiddlings! Took the clip-ons off and put flat drag bars on instead. More comfy for me. Original cables and hoses are long enough - just. Had to file away the master cylinder banjo stop and rotate the hose round a bit, or the angle of the brake lever was too steep.

Glad to see this with the drag bars, that's exactly what I've been contemplating. Where did you pick up the risers from? Are they the MG ones or other make?

Ebay specials! Qtech risers, about £20. Drilled the original alloy spacers out and refitted them as bushes. Still be able to re use them if I put it back to standard at any point.

Looks really smart like that.
Can I just ask, when you fitted the Arrow exhausts, did you have to do any remapping modifications or does it run ok without that hassle?
Thanks.

I read on the Guzzi website a while back that no remapping was necessary with the Arrow pipes. I tried to confirm with my dealer, but they were not clear on the matter. Check with your local Guzzi dealer.

Like most dealers, the two that I asked about this both said the same thing "We can't comment on any aftermarket parts. We would only ever advise that you fit genuine Guzzi parts". Not very helpful really.
I've bought Mistrals, not Arrows.

I had the arrows fitted to my '15 Stone and originally did not get the remap done as it was deemed not necessary. I corrected that mistake after a summer season of riding.

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE! difference with the remap she runs so much better around town doing errands, spirited back roads riding and slabbing it when necessary. no more stumbling at low speeds, smoother throttle response, etc.

Only neg has been a bit of a decrease in mpg. approx 46+/- vrs 49/50 as I'm "enjoying" the back roads riding a lot more.

Just my $.02.

Gerry

It was on the UK Guzzi website that I had read about the Arrows not requiring the re-map. Considering that their V7's were actually coming standard with Arrows, and in fact does with their new scrambler version, the dealers you spoke to sound like mine - uninformed. Gerry sounds like he hit the nail on the head though.

Hope you are enjoying your Mistrals though. Have you enjoyed them thus far and has your mpg dropped any?

I'm not sure if the UK?Euro Guzzis have the same fuel map as the US bound bikes. It's possible that if the map is different then there might not be any running issues with the euro bikes with factory equipped Arrows.

Still waiting for the Mistrals to arrive, along with the K&N filter. Gonna book it in with a UK engine tuning specialist in Liverpool. Quoted me the same as buying a Flash ECU kit, and I won't have the techno hassle. Plus they'll put it on the dyno to fine tune it, all included in the price. Ride in, ride out. I'll update on here once it's done.
For the UK Guzzi riders!

Well, I got the GTRX reflash kit from Todd, followed the really easy instructions and sorted it.
I have to say, the techno bit was worrying me, but it really is easy. I'm so useless at computer stuff normally, but this was easy.
So, what's it like to ride? Well, honestly it feels like a different bike. With the baffle-less Mistrals it sounds absolutely fantastic, not in a male-menopausal type of way like open-pipe Harleys, but it sounds like a deep rumbling throaty sound, until it hits the top end of the rev range, then it really howls. Apart from the sound, which is a side effect really, the throttle reesponse is so much improved that it really feels like a different engine. It feels like I expected the V9 to feel, but didn't. It has lots more torque, lower down the rev range. The fuelling is sweet right from cold starting to hot thrashing. It's much nicer to ride, whether I'm pottering about or being a bit more throttle happy. The improvement is difficult to do justice to on a forum, you have to ride it to feel the vast difference. I actually got the front wheel to lift a little!
All in all, it's cost a fair bit to get the V7 running and sounding like my 1996 Guzzi 750T !
Just over £600 for the Mistrals and K&N filter and postage. Then the cost of Todd's re-flash computer (£430) was bumped up by UK Customs, and by the UK Post Office who charged me a combined price of £55 to get it into the country!
Even though it was over a weekend, and Todd was busy, he got the reworked mapping to me in a very agreeable and realistic timeframe.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
Riding a bike like a Moto Guzzi V7 or a Triumph Bonneville (my other bike) is all about the feeling that I get from it. Not the timewarp top speed or the twenty different electronic rider aids and modes. And these modifications have hugely improved the riding experience.
I test rode the V9 and the new T120 Bonneville and neiher of them are much of an improvement over my V7 and my older Bonneville, thanks to better exhausts, air intake and remapping.
One happy customer!
