I'm posting on the fly here and had no luck searching on the mobile device.

How do I change the display from MPH to KPH and how do I switch to a "rider 2".

As I understand once the bike is set to mph by the dealer during setup, there is no user function to change it to kph. This revelation occurred during my trip to Canada last year. I was able to change my GPS to kph and ride on at the posted limits.

Not sure what you mean about "rider 2"?

To change to "rider 2" I'm assuming you mean changing to the other trip meter. To do so, press the paddle on the LHS handlebar until it displays something that can be reset, e.g. trip mileage, mpg, average speed, etc. Then press and hold the paddle (to the RHS, although perhaps the other way works as well) until the new figures are displaced.

That was true before the service code was discovered...now anybody can do it as they please. The service code for the 1400 is listed and discussed in another thread.

You can change the displa from MPH to KPH in the Menu which only comes up when th bike is out of gear

@Derek : by "out of gear" you mean in neutral ?

Thanks.
Correct, in Neutral.
Sorry to say I mis-remembered and you can only directly change Fuel Consumption & Temperature read outs. Wonder if maybe it may change automatically with language, else it is just a service Item. This is crazy for those of us traveling around Europe and is something I shall need to find out about very soon as travelling to Ireland

Thanks guys, I'll give it a try in neutral. It didn't come up with the service code entered. Am I supposed to answer yes to the reset coupon question?

The reset coupon is to turn off the little wrench that pops up as the oil change indicator. I don't think you can toggle between mph and kph.

OK, I just went out and did this on my 2014 Touring.
1. Key ON, engine OFF
2. Toggle left thumb tab to where it shows MENU
3. Push the thumb tab "in"
4. Toggle the four options to F-C
5. Toggle to which ever you prefer
6. Select it by pushing the thumb tab "in" again.
7. Toggle to EXIT
8. Press the thumb tab one last time.
I will correct an earlier entry I made here...One DOES NOT need the service code to do this.
I did it with just the key and the tab.

Touringman, I just tried that and it only changed the temperature and did not change the mph to kph on my 2014 custom. Interestingly there is another menu selection for fuel consumption so you can know how many km/L that your get but it still leaves the bike in mph. I think Guzzi just didn't think we would ever need to change our unit of speed. Unless they did an update or something that mine just doesn't have.

Or they're trying to protect their dealers. They already did this by keeping the service code secret, something that was always available for other models.

Well, I am back now. I continued doing math while driving as I couldn't get the units to change no matter how many other settings I changed.

Thanks everybody for trying to help me on the road.

Well, I am back now.

Where did you go? How long were you on your ride? How many miles (kilometers)? What color is your bike?* How many gears does it have?*

*Those last two were actual questions I got from some people in Oregon when stopping to fill up on gas during my last trip.
