Hi All

I'd like to know where the plugs are located on a Norge 1200.

Heard it has 4 plugs. Checked the Service manual but I don't think I was patient enough to find it there

Pictures would be really helpful too

Thanks thanks

What model Norge? If a 2V engine you have 4 plugs. If a 4V engine you have 2 plugs.
On a 2V the outer 2 are under the cover that runs across the top of the head cover. Remove the screws and don't drop the spacers. The inner 2 plugs require removal of the fuel tank and a very thin wall socket to remove them.
You need numbers 19 and 25 from this parts page: http://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdImages/st3/GU083.pdf
I remember I put Iridiums in the outer on my 2007 but I could only find the OEM model for the inner.

On the 4V you carefully pop the little Moto Guzzi emblem off the cover on the head. I use a small flt blade at the bottom center to push the tang back that holds it in. Don't break it as they cost a fair bit. Then you need a 3mm hex (Allen) wrench to remove the screw. You now see the plug cap.
You need number 15 on this page: http://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdImages/st3/GU099.pdf
I put CR8EIX Iridium plugs in my 2012.

Not to be cheeky, but have you looked at the motor? Kinda hard to miss. Dont worry about the inner plugs for 50K miles. Outer plugs are simple.

Actually it is a good idea to remove the inner plugs early and coat the threads with an anti seize compound. They are in for so long that if you don't removal at 50K can be damaging to the head.

An easy, and obvious, way to find your spark plugs is follow the spark plug leads from the coil to the head.
I thought the stock inner plugs are some sort of iridium plug, that is how it has such a long service interval. I could be wrong, but that is what I seem to recall. Some use an iridium plug for both inner and outer, but I am not sure it is worth it.
