Clicking noise and no start

I've had a couple of starting issues with my 14 Touring. It's only happened when the bike is cold, with the last incident this morning. I mount the bike, lift the side stand, hit the starter button and all I get is a faint click. I thought this might be a weak battery so I replaced it 2-3 weeks ago. I had no issues until this mornings start and got the same click noise and no start. I hit the starter twice more and still no start, just a faint click. I decided to try a couple of things and who knows if one(or none)!of these things helped the bike. I lowered the kick stand raised it back up and still only a click. I placed the bike in gear and again only a click. I was going to place the bike in the garage and take my dependable 2001
BMW in service when I hit the button and she fired up. Has anyone experienced something similar? Can the starter or the starter button be bad already? Any help

On most all other modern big block Guzzis, if the battery is good, check the wires on both ends to insure it is free of corrosion build up. If that is good, it could be the relay (rare, but always a first). Also, search No Start in the Norge section, and measure the voltage at the starter and report back.
 
I think Todd means to check the voltage supplied to the solenoid on the starter when you press the start button. There needs to be enough voltage and current to engage the solenoid.

When I replaced the battery I did notice corrosion on the battery end,I cleaned the terminals really well when I placed the new battery back in, but never checked the wires on the other end. (and frankly, where do those wires end or lead to?) I checked the starter yesterday and that nut was nice and tight and I noticed no corrosion there. I'm stumped and feel like the bike is not reliable anymore to start when and if I'm far from home.

My 1400 did similar a few times. I first checked the ground wire to the engine block for corrosion. You have to remove the starter cover to reach it. I removed and cleaned both ends of the ground wire then after reinstall I tested it. That is when I saw the sparks and realized the positive wire to the starter was not tightened at the factory and was arcing when I started the bike. I would not have seen it if I had put the starter cover back on before testing it.

There is a spade connection on the solenoid of the starter. Disconnect the wire there. Use a digital multi meter to read the voltage on this wire when you press the starter button. You should have 12 volts or more there to energize the solenoid.
