Hi all, I have an 08 Griso 1200, all mods done, and runs great. Today the dash display became grainy, later an error box, then nothing - perfectly blank display. Now the bike will not start at all, blank display, no power to starter. (Luckily was home).
Has anyone else suffered a similar occurrence, if so any solutions ?
My initial thoughts would be to buy a new dash, refit, and away we go. Am I on the right track ?
Any comments greatly appreciated......

The dash communicates with the keys. Yes, you can buy a new dash from a dealer, and plug and play outside of you will likely have to program the keys to the dash, and/or vice-versa. Best to let a dealer handle the swap if you can.

Thanks Todd. Will have to try and do it myself, as bike is immobile, (unless I van transport bike). Will the griso manual cover it, or anything in archive to help.

As it took about 2 hours of dash fading, towards final failure, I assume it couldn't possibly be a fuse.

Before I popped for a new dash I'd be checking connections and all that good stuff first.
This is a different mode of failure than what I have heard of before, but who knows.

The actual replacement of the dash, along with programming the keys is relatively simple and I would think that most could do it themselves.

Another option, if the dash is indeed found to be faulty, is to try sending yours in to Carmo. They are in the Netherlands so closer to you than to me: https://www.carmo.nl/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4318_4307_5315&pg=categories&language=en

If your LCD screen is no good then they may not be able to fix it. I've heard that they have salvaged some LCD screens to install if yours is found to be bad but I would contact them ahead of time to find out. They do charge a diagnostic fee if they can't fix it if I remember correctly, again this is a good question to ask before you were to send it in.

Moisture seems to be the cause of most dash problems, not so much the moisture getting into the dash but more the poor job done by the manufacturer of waterproofing the components.

I had my 1200 Sport dash fixed by Carmo a few years ago and now the fix has lasted longer than the original did.

Thanks Bisbonian, have posted dash to Carmo in Netherlands. Will update later.

Carmo advise me the LCD screen is dead, no spares available. Only option is to transfer data to new or secondhand unit, no keys required, as codes are in there. Was able to source an old secondhand unit for £330, or new for £480. Carmo's code and mileage data transfer is approx 140 euros.
Have gone for new option, ordered direct from Guzzi for my 2008 Griso 8V.
An expensive do ! But no option I suppose unless my bike is converted to a manual non-electronic control, is this possible, or not, with the ECU, fuel injection, etc ??

As far as I know you are stuck with the dash communicating with the ECU.
