Welcome to the Eldo fraternity... Is that a short screen on the bike?
Thanks, Uss. Yes, I believe I have the small version of the cop windshield, which the PO installed. It's a Guzzi branded piece, and quite nicely made. It's not the ultimate wind management device, but it sure looks good on the bike.

If you have the Guzzi windshield, adding the factory accessory lowers can eliminate the buffeting problem. Worked for me...

Thanks for the tip Longrider. I've spent more time on the freeway and found that helmet selection makes a big difference in buffeting. It's not too bad, really. I'd consider one of those laminar lip things for the top of the windshield but they're so damned ugly. I like my Ponch and John riding simplicity.

btw, looking at parts listings I'm pretty sure I have the medium screen, if that makes any difference in fitting other parts like the lowers. I'm liking how the lowers blend in with the design of the windshield. How easy are they to get off and on for hot weather/cold weather changeover? I like the extra breeze down low on hot days.

I have the standard Touring windshield but I think the bottom portion is the same as yours. You only have to remove a few bolts to remove the lowers. However, the way the lowers eliminate buffering is by directing part of the airflow upward behind the windshield. I did not perceive a temperature difference in either season before or after the lowers.

Thanks, Longrider. One more question if you don't mind: Assuming I could fit the Touring model's bag mounts to my Eldorado, would you say that the mount would work with other types of hard luggage? I'm thinking about going with aluminum boxes, just black painted boxes like some adventure riders have. I like the simple aesthetic of those boxes but I'd also like to have the chrome protector rails of the Touring mounts.

I've never mounted hard luggage to any bike, so I'm in the dark about mounting schemes. Btw, the aluminum boxes come undrilled, so I imagine they could be adapted to various mountings, but I don't really know.

I don't think the Touring bag mounts will fit directly on the Eldo because the mudguard is much deeper on the Eldo, I bought the Cali rack and top box for mine thinking it was a straight bolt on but had to make up new brackets and spacers to get it to fit. I had the same problem fitting the Hepco Becker bags because when I bought them they only made them for the Cali, but they now make them specifically for the Eldorado so I'd agree with kiwi dave that this would be the way to go. They are not cheap but excellent quality and very well made.

Those bags do look nice, and the C-bow is unobtrusive, and I see Todd has them. Maybe when I get done with the engine guards.

I hope these Hepco & Becker engine guards fit OK. They're 2mm bigger OD than the stock ones, but they sure look beefy.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Practicality be damned, now I just want slip ons lol. Gotta love the way the engine sounds at RPM.
