I've been wanting to take my first financed, Italian hand made, pseudo enduro bike off road since I first got it! Doesn't sound too smart... Happy to report it went great and with a few modifications it will be quite formidable among ADV bikes on the market.

The down low torque was perfect for the conditions and the factory tires powered through deep sand, up hill, no problem. With more aggressive tires, a skid plate and headlight grill it will be quite a handsome little adventure bike. The only thing I didn't test was mud but I am confident and eager.

The South's terrain stands no chance! That red clay does scare me though...

Great pix.

I remember that part of the world -- lived in Hinesville for a few years -- and miss life below the fall line ... well, unless I need a mountains fix.:)

My own Stornello will remain an off-road virgin for a bit longer, at least 'til I get the hang of it. ;)

In the meantime, wish I could get on it, if only on the road. Family and other commitments have me everywhere else thus far, but in my few (think 40 or so! :() miles, it's been a hoot.

Right now, it's (or he or she; haven't decided on its sex :giggle:) the new guy in the Moto Grappa, and is no doubt being subjected to appropriate hazing and other initiation rites.

Thanks everyone. I like to use my possessions - I can only baby them for so long. It brings a freedom that you can not get otherwise. I know the Guzzi can take it :h:

Wow that is awesome!
Keep us up to date with upgrades....
Are there head guards on at the moment?

Thanks and I will definitely be posting when the parts start rolling in. Especially being the Stornello isn't too well documented. Headguards? They're coming, I swear!

So which bike gets the bed? I've actually only been in SC for a month now. Moved from Long Island, NY. Definitely some good roads around here but like you said, I do miss the mountains. Atleast I can always ride 3 hours northwest for some... :tmi: Now when I really get confident on her I'll take a road trip up the mountains to a fantastic off road park I've been reading up on.

You'll love her / him Bill. I wish your sanity the best but hope you take he-she out soon!

Per "the rules", "motociclo" in Italian is masculine gender, but oddly enough, in Spanish "motocicleta" is feminine.
