removing the rear wheel without centre stand

as the title suggests, i would like to know how its done, and what to use

Hydraulic floor jack or a mechanical scissor jack or a motorcycle lift.
I have even used a concrete block & a board & had two friends pick the bike up & then I slid the block & board under.
 
You can buy a scissor jack cheap, like about $10 from a junk yard or eBay. Personally I like the Honda ones though others may be better as I have only tried a few. I jack it up then put boards under the bike and set it on those for support while working on it. If you can strap the bike to something to stabilize it, like the ceiling or similar, that is even better. I'm lucky as I have a lift table I strap it to.
Or, like Trout said. Enlist a few friends to pick it up.
 
i like the idea of a hydraulic jack. i was going to buy a centre stand but i like my bike to be as minimal as possible. thakjs for your advices
 
find the harbor freight coupon for a front wheel chock. usually $47. with the coupon or the 20% off one. put the front wheel in, use 2 tie down on the H bars then raise it with a jack of your choosing. locked into position that way. However none of this crap will be with you when the flat occurs out on a trip so I got a center stand ordered for mine.
 
When travelling on the bike it's unlikely you'll have a scissor jack, wheel chock, pitbull stand, etc.. with you. g
Get a center stand and be done with it. Hepco-Becker can hook you up with one.

That being said, a center stand is ALWAYS good to have.
A shop stand is handy for doing all sorts of maintenance or repairs, but I wouldn't be w/o a center stand if available

Ya, same thought as me. I have this bike for long distance touring...whenever I can that is and the fear of running a flat is always there...*cursing @ the gravel trucks & logging trucks*

On top of that, having a small garage kills the idea having a rear stand as I can't get to the back of the bike once she is parked. to stand the bike up LOL...

I'm not that familiar with your V7 but most Guzzi's I've had the swing arm needed to be dropped to get enuf clearance to get the wheel out from under the bike.
If that is the case you may be able to use that to get the bike up, loosen all the stuff necessary, then slide a brick & board under the frame to support the bike then remove the dolly.
Don't know for sure.
 
How do you use this to remove a wheel off a Guzzi?
universal rear stand kits. any bike with a dual swingarm. I've never had to drop the swingarm my EV or Sport 1100.
On the EV just tilt the wheel to clear the fender. No experience with the v7/9. so maybe that won't work?
