Well, I guess I waited too long to rebuild the rear shock as the top mounting bolt has again broken. This time I have 36.4,mm of the 80mm bolt in my hand. This means the bolt broke about dead center of the shock.
I suspect I will have to cut the space out a slice at a time until I can wiggle the shock off the remaining bolt and then unscrew the remainder from the mount. Currently debating on taking off the rear fender to see if I can get sawsall access from there.
If I take off the rear wheel in an attempt to access the spacer from that angle, do I need to support the swing arm since the shock and lower linkage is disconnected?
Thoughts or suggestions? (other than I'm screwed again)
Thanks,
jdg
