8V cam swap w/pics

Here's my flat tappets and Cam's at 6500 km. Now I'm happy to be rollerised. I installed the "A" kit in October.

Hi Norm,

My 1200 Sport 4V is now requiring the replacement cam kit. Due to changing the country since I bought it in 2010 and no factory service history, the local importing agents are not interested in attempting a warranty claim of Moto Guzzi.
Does the cam kit also require replacement heads or do they fit the existing head setup.
Where can I get the cam kits given the lack of interest from the NZ agents ?
Do you have any idea of the cost for parts ?

Cheers, Richard.

Richard, To answer your question, most likely for Sport 8V , Kit C or Kit D. Depending if you have a floating valve cover or not. Kit C requires you to pull heads to add shims under intake valve springs or they may be there already, but you must check them and add if not present. The kit goes into your existing heads on the motor. Cost here in USA is $1178.50 for Kit C according to AF1 Racing.
You need to check relevant Technical Bulletins #006-2014 (Sport 8V) and #2014-004 Repair Procedures

Good morning.
In my Norge GT 8V ABS 2013, on the right cylinder, the valve tuning screw broke, to replace it I had to remove the valve block following the manual repar , but something went wrong because it doesn't work :sweating:, I think I didn't put the valve block in the right position, can you explain to me how I put the TDC position so that I can mount the valve block in the right position.
I appreciate the help you can give me.

Oh my. What you are asking here is impossible.

Without knowing what you were doing, you tore open your motor, and now we have no idea what you have done, or didn’t do, and it would appear that you now have a timing disaster on you hands.

There is no way to isolate what you have done and how to correct it via the internet!

You need the help of a local, professional mechanic.
