Hello All,

I just took the longest ride on the bike yet from Atlanta to Black Mtn, NC this weekend. I usually ride in town and then to and from work. I have to admit about 100 miles in the seat became super uncomfortable in all the usual "bike butt" ways. I am now looking for a new seat or DIY seat mod to help with the longer rides. I am 6'1 and 195 lbs. Other than that, the bike was great in the mtns.

I've gotten no discomfort with the standard III Racer seat even with a near 200 mile ride, likely because the canted forward riding position means that my weight is distributed over a larger area including part of my thighs instead of directly on my gluteus. For touring, however, I bought a small AirHawk pillion pad that I can fit to the rider portion of my Gel Comfort Seat in case I want a little more leg room and padding .. the dual seat is a bit firmer and flatter than the monoposto seat.
 
When I head out for an extended ride on my Griso (and the same with my wife's V7), we throw on a sheepskin buttpad. Been using them for years on all kinds of bikes...warm in the cooler months, cool in the hot months and transforms those nasty OEM motorcycle seats to a comfy place to put your butt for those longer rides.
 
If you need an extra seat to use as something you want to have a vendor use as a base.. I have a v7 iii stone seat with 100 miles on it.. perfect condition.. I can sell you.. PM me!
