Well after a 60 mile jaunt to Payson AZ on my 2017 California Touring I stopped for gas. The bike refused to start after fueling up. The battery is good showing 12.3 volts but the starter will not engage. Never had any problems the prior 4200 miles..$220 tow truck ride got me home. Any ideas before I contact Piaggio tomorrow? My local dealer no longer carries Moto Guzzi..Thanks in advance.

Thanks Lou, I plan on doing some exploring tomorrow when I'm fresh, I will follow the wire to the solenoid.

Hello, Mark. I was battling cut-out/non-starting issues with my 2016 Audace. Once I sent it back to the dealer they determined that it had a defective tip-over sensor--something I suggest you evaluate as well. Best wishes, Dicky Boston, MA

I wish that was the case. No, it ended up being a dislocated wire. My Ducati mechanic and friend a former Ducati racer came over and picked up the bike yesterday. He texted me at 1:30 AM that he found the wire fault, I believe it's the same issue Guzzi Lou warned me about. As an aside I contacted Piaggio regarding the towing cost and I was told in no certain terms that Piaggio will not reimburse for towing. Since my original dealer is no longer a Piaggio franchise they suggested that I have the bike towed 120 miles to Tucson, the Guzzi dealer closest to my home. Had I done that I would have incurred an additional $200 towing bill, for a loose wire. Thanks to all who offered input, very appreciated....

I ended up zip-tieing the wire in such a way that it couldn't pop back off. It's a spade connector so you can try and crimp it tighter but I can't recall off-hand if it's easily do-able. Maybe do both if you can but for me it hasn't popped off again.
