In my battles to figure out the racing throttle issue i noticed that my cable is being slowly shredded by the windshield bracket. I believe the mechanic routed my cables wrong when installing my heated grips last year. Can you guys verify for me?

IMG 20171022 123345 You are correct, the cables need to be the other side of the screen bracket
Just checked it out on my machine
what puzzels me is why would putting heated grips on effect the cabling unless some one have taken the screen off at some point and put the brackets on wrong

Thanks Caswain.
I've lost my mind trying to figure out why the throttle cables were rerouted. Good news is, i stopped at the dealer and when the owner saw the cable he offered to order me a new set at no cost.

Doubt that'll change your racing throttle but good luck. There have been a couple of possible solutions to the issue with the cheapest being a crank position sensor replacement.

My workaround on the hot days it happens is to leave the bike IN GEAR (say 5th) when slowing down to a light or stop sign and let the revs settle to about 2k and THEN pull the clutch lever in and downshift while keeping the clutch lever tight.
