Does anybody know if the mk3 V7 airfilter is the same as the Mk2 one?
Thinking about getting a K&N one but dont see the mk3 model listed anywhere..

Could you post the K&N Filter you are talking about? for future references?

And are they better than stock filter with the megs exhaust and ecu flash?

I havent found a K&N one. Emailed them and they replied they'd look into it..
But now I know the Mk2 ones are the same I will dig into it..

The theory is that they have better flow than the stock ones so the engine breaths better, especially in combination of improved exhausts this gives a (small) performance improvement..
on the mk3 model the ECU is self learning my dealer told me, so that would mean that it in principle does not need an ECU flash..

I did find these on ebay, not K&N, but potentially better than the stock ones..

Added bonus with these (and K&N ones) is that they last longer so you wont need to buy new ones every service..

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket buy it. Other wise not worth it and spend it on something else. I bought the BMC air filter when Todd offered it but only because I had lots of funds at the time and was on a spending spree. No noticable difference in performance even when open air filter lid is installed.
