Hi guys,

I was about to buy a 4k kilometers 2014 Guzzi v7 stone but I am not confident with this high whining sound. What do you guys think? Any help or clue is appreciated. Sorry about the video, has a big offset between the video and the sound, but the sound is pretty decent. The recording goes from the engine to the exhausts and comes back to the engine. Thanks!

Ah, that makes sense, thanks! however I believe I had a nightmare last night or something, what should I do to reduce that sound? Could that indicate a future clutch replacement? That is going to be more than $1,000, so probably thinking in another v7 with battery problems, the guy just ordered a new battery, Jezzz

Nope it is the first time, but it is really loud and nothing to compare with the engine sound in other three v7 stones I have seen

sound track seems normal but only lasts 30 seconds. what happens when the clutch is pulled in? any difference?
you can buy a new Stone from Portland for $6000 right now but then there's shipping, duty and the $ diffrence.
personally I would call every dealer in Canada and see what kind of a deal can be had on a 2017. Your season is about shot and they know it. I'd rather pay a $100 a month for 3 years for a new one but thats me.

Yep, that has been my decision too, that spinning noise is really loud, sounds like the engine rotation itself to me, I don't feel comfortable. On the other side I was offering $4,650 for a 2014 v7 stone with 1000km but they wanted $5,000, the guy had to replace the battery this week (found it jumped from his car in my first visit), so not confident of the alternator or other electrical parts.

Brand new here in Canada is $6,400 to choose between the vII stone, vII special or the vIII stone(same price), so I believe the thing to do is to spend those $1,400 more and get the guarantee. Now the nightmare starts because I like the looking of the vII better.

Sounds normal in the videol and if it was the original battery it was due for replacement.

Go back and look at all the differences in the III. yes the chrome on the II is prettier in my opinion but owning a 15 and a 17 i'd pay 2K more for the 17 it is really that much better. IMHO!

Buy the one w/no nightmares, might cause you to drink more. Ease of mind is worth it.
Get the 3 for same price, you'll like it better, more power Hemi head.

I rode both-a 2013 and a 2018 and I agree. The V7 iii is way more refined in nearly every way. Faster, smoother, slightly better handling. 6-speed, traction control and ABS also are welcome features. I would be nervous to take my 2013 on a journey, but the 2018 I would take across the country without a worry. My only beef with the iii is it’s a little boring, almost too smooth and quiet. I fixed that with new pipes.

Thanks guys for your replies, i really appreciate them. I ended up with a new v7iii stone which someone else will pay when I dye. But I am happy with the decision, and still I think this bike has a problem related to the engine rotation that it is not obvious in the video. Will bother you guys more often, hopefully.
