It appears that no one makes a 2-up touring seat or backrest specifically for the new Eldorado. Not MG or HB. Neither will anyone say if the seat or available backrest for the Califorinia touring will fit the Eldorado
Has anyone here put a California or Corbin seat on the Eldorado? Will the HB backrest then fit?
Thanks for any info.

The seat will fit, the back rest rack will not. The fender shape of the Eldo will not allow the rack to bolt on as it uses the bolts under the edge of the fender on each side.

That's disappointing about the backrest; non-starter for my wife
Thanks for the info

The rack that need the bolts on the side is the genuine MG one, it is very heavy and over engineered IMHO.

Can I suggest you get the MG Comfort Gel Seat P/N B064236 or the plain black 2S000063, both are supremely comfortable for a pillion according to my wife and the BO64236 has the white accents on the side to compliment the Eldos scheme. That is the only difference between the 2 seats with the latter one mentioned being all black (which I have on my Custom.

Then buy either a Hepko and Becker P/N HB611544 which is the rack and back rest, or HB650544 which is just the rack and which with a drill and a little patience you can fix a tob box to (which I have done) which also acts as a back rest for the pillion. The HB rack does not require the side brackets which the deeper sides of the guards on the Eldo won't allow the MG factory rack to fit to as mentioned above.

Here's mine with a couple of options .

Thank you, that's great information. Your bike looks great

I bought the genuine rack before I realised there was a problem fitting it to the eldorado but it can be made to fit by making a couple of brackets to allow for the extra depth of the eldorado guard and making spacers for under the guard, as in the photos, to use the original mounting points. As others have said the guzzi rack weighs half a ton but is as solid as a rock. I recently covered 5000kms two up and well overloaded without a problem. I have also fitted the california gel seat, you may find you have to pull off a couple of the rubber spacers underneath to get it to fit but other than that it just drops on.
Sorry, I'm away from home for a few days and can't post the photos with this tablet, I will post them when I get home if you are interested. Seat, rack and top box are fitted in my profile picture along with Hepco Becker saddle bags.
John.

Hi John, It would be great to see photos of the Seat Rack and Top Box and if possible the brackets you mentioned. I have just bought an Eldorado and am having seating problems for the Chief! I am looking for a solution with a back rest too.

I had the same problem, (first photos with rear of mudguard removed), original bracket would normaly attach at bottom of hexagonal spacers. Also added screen and passenger foot boards. Happy wife happy life.

I notice a few Australian Guzzi owners in these thread, may I ask how is your experience in owning a bike like this in Australia in regards to servicing and maintenance? I am looking at purchasing one soon.

I have 40,000km on my 2013 Touring. I am 400km from the nearest dealer. At 1500km the rear drive started leaking. I rode it to Sydney and had it swapped out under warranty. 2,000km ago the alternator died. I was just leaving Sydney that morning. The alternator was replaced that week. My son loaned me his car to drive back home. He called a van to collect my bike and took it to the dealer. We swapped car and bike a week later. I have done general servicing. It is very straightforward. As a side note, I added Todd's fuelling package and full exhaust system and currently I'm riding the Great Ocean Road with some of my brothers and my son. The bike is a very entertaining ride.

I have had my Eldorado for almost 3 years now and have been more than satisfied with it. The only problem I have had is one of the exhaust protector plate's holding clamp weld coming off. Just gave a bit of a rattle but was fixed with q quick tig weld. These bikes are a bit sophisticated so I don't tinker with it at all unless I am installing some accessories. Maintenance & service is done by Peter Stevens Melbourne and I have been very satisfied with them. No upgrades as stock standard is good enough for me. It is pure riding pleasure...you won't regret it!

Sorry to hear about your problems, I hope they are all sorted now. We may have crossed each other as my friend & I were on a ride from Melbourne to Adelaide via the GOR and back via Horsham & The Grampians. Awesome ride and the bike rode like a dream! The scenic views are awesome nowadays! Safe Rides....
