Hey Guys
Why when I’m coasting with my clutch in do I sometimes see gear changes on the gear indicator? Also I swear I get a green dash light sometimes when switching gears... I’m not really looking so I can’t be sure...

Best
Mitch

If you're shifting up from first to second, I could see the green neutral light flashing as you went through neutral.
I have no idea how the gear indicator works, so I've got nothing on that.

The gear indicator works by comparing engine RPM vs wheel speed. With the clutch disengaged there is no relationship between engine and wheel speed. When the clutch is first engaged it takes a moment for the computer to do the calculation and I think sometimes the first gear number displayed can be wrong (low) if the clutch is still in the friction zone.

I agree with Avlis;

I have a V7 III and it does the same thing when coasting. If was kinda weirded out by it at first so went to a big empty parking lot and did some testing. And yeah, it has to do some thinking after coasting, so I saw lots of split second gear displays that were to low, before it figured it out. Nothing to worry about.
