V7 rear brake pedal rose up

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I searched extensively but no luck. 2015 V7 special with about 7500 miles on it, maintained by my dealer in Austin. Riding to the local brewery last night when noted the rear brake pedal felt out of place. Upon arrival I noted it seemed to be riding higher that normal, as if the actuator became detached from the master cylinder. Brakes seem to work fine, and I temporarily 'fixed' it by tying the frame with zip ties so that the brake is not being actuated. Pulled the dust boot, and nothing fell out. I am thinking something is awry with the master cylinder itself as it happened suddenly vs. a simple adjustment. I'll appreciate any feedback, Ciao!
 
It's the brake pedal stop pin. It probably unscrewed itself and fell off. It's a common occurrence. You can get a spare (part # B063132) at several on-line MG parts stores, or some folks just replace it with a 6mm metric threaded bolt. Either way, use loctite to prevent a recurrence. You're welcome.
 
You Guzzistis are Amazing! Googled the part number, saw the pic went out to the bike and once I knew what I was looking for I couldn't believe it was that simple! Thanks for the tips. I've been off the forum all last year due to Military deployment, but back home now and riding! Thanks again!
 
Before installing the new stop pin, just raise the pedal enough so that the push rod can be put back into the rubber boot of the master cylinder. It likely didn't break anything when it pulled out of the boot.

My experience was similar to yours, except mine was due to my shearing off the pin when I dropped the bike with my foot wedged under the brake pedal (I was a rank beginner then, I try not to drop the bike anymore).
 
Thanks Sib. I looked at mine, it just rattled out. Right now I have a temporary 'fix' in that I daisy-chained 2 zip ties together to hold it down. It never left the boot thankfully. I'm thinking to engineer a better solution with a lock nut and spacer that in combo with some loctite and a torque wrench won't back out. I'll post up a pick once I get it done.

Thanks again Guzzitis! Thanks to your collective expertise I easily found the part number and alas it is $10 or so and has to be special ordered. And then there’s shipping. In the interest of keeping it original I’ll probably spring for it but for now a trip to my excellent hometown hardware store Jim’s Hardware in Montgomery,TX yielded this result. I think mandello del lario would approve. And I have lock tite and a torque wrench which seem to be rare in the mother country!
