Riding my Sport 1200 4V in London stop and start traffic my red warning light came on with oil can showing when stopped. If I revved then they both disappeared. Once moving at speed disappeared. I had this happen on my 2v once on every hot day again in London. Maybe the answer is not to go to London.
Just had bike serviced by the way .

I checked oil levels all good. Stopped went to an appointment got back on bike not lights.
Is this the bike way of telling you it's to hot?

Engine oil getting hot and too thin. I think these bikes will do it even with the recommended 10W60. They are set lean on the low end generating too much heat. Without a flow of air, you get thin oil.

Have your oil pump checked immediately . photo is the oil pump from my 08 1200S.
The red triangle of doom is a warning, Doom awaits your bearings if you keep running it.

Not necessarily. As he said, in stop and go in London. I've had the same thing happen once with my Breva going into Barber's for Vintage days. Once cooled off never did it again.

Weather has not been hot enough in London to cause problems with oil viscosity.
I too have pictures of an oil pump with the outer rotor in 3 pieces.
I was in France, about to return to the UK when I had the same light display on starting. Restarted a couple of times and no lights, so I rode about 200 miles home with no problems and no more warning lights.
Stripped the front end to see the pump and hey presto. I used Castrol Edge 10W60 too.

Up to you if you want to assume it's nothing of course, but how lucky do you feel?

Still assessing what to do. On way back from London yesterday stopped for break and noticed a drop of oil. There is an oil leak could be from oil temp sensor although looks like it's coming from cylinder base casket. The oil levels good. Oil looks are misleading as it tracks. So I guess first thing is to see if leak at oil sensor. Would that possible effect oil pressure at low revs when notusibf revs?

i had an annoying little leak on my 8v, eventually traced it to the sealing ring behind the 'timing chain Oil thrower' on back of rocker cover. replace ring, leak stopped

The bike has had roller bearings fitted before any serious deterioration of cams.
Any took tank and air box off oil sensor sat in a pool of oil . I've ordered a new sensor so will fit and hopefully all will be well!
