On my Breva 1100 a leak from the throttle body has developed. It is on the left hand side - see pictures. It this an easy fix or do I have to replace the throttle body?

First determine if it is fuel or oil. If oil you have been over filling the engine and you need to clean out the airbox and use less oil on the crankcase. If fuel, you may have an injector that is sticking slightly open. In which case pull you injectors (both) and have them cleaned.

It is not oil as the bike has not had an oil change done recently. I will try and get the injector out tomorrow.

Recent oil change doesn't matter. Don't assume anything. Analyze what is on the starter cover before you go pulling things apart. Also don't necessarily think it is from the throttle body unless you inspect with a mirror and confirm that is the source.

Nice photos. That really helps.

If you know there is absolutely not an overfill condition in the craknkcase, then I guess The Dealer, Previous Owner, or Somebody may have over-lubed the throttle linkage?

I agree with JZ: motor oil has gotten into the airbox & throttle bodies(s) via excess blow-by from the oil recovery system.

Have you drained the airbox? Until you can be certain there is no excess oil there, you can't exclude oil from that leak. To me, it looks like an oil stain.

I have a similar drip on my 1200 Sport, but on the other side.
I assume mine is not oil from the airbox as I have bypassed the airbox dumping and have a small Red Bull can which collects the oil now.
Your drip looks wetter than mine, I have to use a solvent to remove the residue from the engine/transmission. Mine seems to be coming from the pivot, I've been wondering what it is and hadn't previously thought about a sticky injector.

Mine has been doing this for the past few years, it has caused no running problems and I tend to forget about it until when I wash the bike, which isn't really that often.

I agree with the suggestion to drain the airbox before making trouble.

I had the tank and airbox off and took the injector out to check everything possible. The throttle body is dry and fairly clean inside, the injector is not incontinent and dribbling and there is no collection of oil residue in the airbox.
I have been the owner for the last 14 years and done the necessary servicing.
So I go with M0T0Geezer's suggestion that it is oil dripping from the linkage. Strange though that I have oiled the linkage last about 6 months ago and it is only dripping down one side..... Never mind, I will keep an eye on it.
