After coming off my 09 Stelvio, I've got a left shock that 'clicks' once I press down on the front, and has play when wiggled from the axle end.

I'm going to take it for a service (oil and seals due anyway). Has anyone had this; is it likely to be an expensive fix?

I would be inspecting the axle clamp and make sure it is not broken, early ones were cracking when tightened too snug the pinch bolts.

Right so I've decided it must be the bushes. And the fork-oil is due for replacement.
How difficult is this job? Any tips? Or is it best to get a professional to look at it?
The other question is - when refitting the forks to the yoke, how do you measure the height, to make sure the forks at the right level?

Changing the fork oil is not too big a job, I've attached my notes on the procedure (factory manual with notes) Hope this helps.

I've had mine apart twice. If you've got the manual or the directions above, it's really not difficult, and I'm no mechanical whiz ....

You can measure where the forks sit right now in the clamps and just put them back there, or experiment with the height a bit if you want to adjust the handling. Since I installed a 1" lower suspension in the rear, I lowered the front by 1" also, and it does great.
