I have had my Audace for a little over a week. So I am still getting used to it. It is a 2016 MY bike but the owners manual is I think for a later model year. The manual shows a button for the cruise control that can be pushed up or down to increase or decrease the set speed. My bike has a single push button to turn on/off the cruise control and set to set speed. I see no way to increase or decrease the speed once it is set. Am I missing something or is this the way it is?

If your cruise control is on the brake lever side then you have the old style cruise control
if however it is on the clutch lever side that is the new style cruise control with up/down switch for controlling speed select
I have had both on a 2014 model old style and the new style on the clutch side which was introduced on the 2017 models

Ok, that is what I thought. It is a pain to reset it all the time when other traffic can't maintain a constant speed. I will learn to live with it. It is just hard to engage the button with gloves on. It is just a small inconvenience to deal with on an otherwise fine bike. I have only had mine for just over a week and and I love it.

Same as my 2014 Custom. It is, essentially, an electronic throttle lock. I only use mine when I am in a place where there is no other or traffic is running at a somewhat constant speed.

My 2016 audace just has a single button also.

Guess they've fixed the button's QC issues then? I've got a 2014 Custom, and somewhere in the second year of ownership, the button wouldn't take a valid speed setting. Pushing it would turn the function on and off, but it was a total crapshoot whether or not it would successfully take a speed sample. Saw a post a couple of years back where a guy took the control apart, and filled the button with epoxy. I did the same, still had the problem. Maybe not as frequently... ;-) This year, it's been working perfectly. Maybe that added epoxy has finally aged up to rock-solid firmness...

Seriously, the only new model feature that would get me to upgrade is more up-to-date media electronics. And the disappearing LCD speedometer in 99F heat could stand addressing... ;-) In every other way, I have no complaints nor desires... ;-)

There is no resume on my 2017, when I press it in it only turns it on or off.

Pressing it in with a "long" push will turn it on or off.

After you turn it on, get up to your desired speed, and then give the button a "short" push (jab). The flashing cruise control icon in your dash should then become steady, and you're now cruising.

Yes that I know but there is no resume like on a Harley.

Yeah, I got that part. However, when I say "resume" I mean only having to set the desired speed once. After that, pushing a resume button would bring you back to that speed regardless of how fast you are traveling when you push it.

that's what your right wrist is for ;). Yes I had the same issue with the cruise button, the micro switch is under the fat button and also under a small plastic depression on the button. If they don't line up right - one above the other (mine didn't from new), no amount of pressing will trigger the microswitch. I took mine apart and realigned it and it's all worked beautifully since. I remember talking to the guy who filled it with epoxy as his had become knackered and deformed due to a heavy thumb, and there was another guy who stuck a round rubber washer onto the top of the cruise button so he didn't have to push his thumb into the housing - all viable solutions

Good idea. When I am wearing gloves it is hard to push the button in the recess. I will do something like that. I have had two surgeries on my right hand so Ihave to have cruise to give my hand a break. The cruise on my Harley worked well but it didn't like gloves either.

I put a rubber washer on mine a couple of days ago. I did a 200 mile ride yesterday. It made all the difference and I can now feel the switch actually click to set the speed.
