I may be the guy referred to who came up with the idea for a "pad" on the cruise control button to make it easier to work. There is another thread somewhere here the shows it.
What I did was go to the hardware store and buy some clear plastic, self adhesive, "feet" for the bottoms of lamps or other items you don't want marring a table top. They come in many sizes and colours. You simply peal off the protective backing and stick it to the cruise button.
The "feet" are inexpensive. A card of them can be had for a buck or so. If it gets hot they may move around a bit and occasionally they need to be replaced. I carry the card with the extras in my tank bag to replace them as needed. It's a simple, cheap and easy improvement and the cruise control becomes much more usable. Even with gloves on you can feel the switch and you don't need to use gorilla level effort to get the button in far enough for it to work. Garwood
