I am going for a ride to Tasmania soon on my Eldorado and had this question regarding Rain Mode. When going to this mode does it automatically adjust the traction control for wet surfaces or should one move from level 1 to lever 2 or higher manually.

I have not been in the rain much and it can rain a lot in Tasmania, what surface conditions would require moving from Traction Control level 1 to higher. Has anyone tried higher levels, can you share the experience.

Cheers

I believe the traction control is independent of the three riding modes you have. IMHO, Rain Mode severely reduces power, and is totally useless. I find the Sport Mode a little abrupt, so I usually stay in the Touring Mode.

The traction control (M.G.C.T.) works great in all three settings, but level 3 is rather severe. Personally, I set mine to 1 and leave it there.

Remember traction control (and ABS) will not solve all your problems on a wet slippery road, so more care is required.

Thank you Dave....much appreciated.

Traction control can get you into trouble. I was riding on a horrible overpass and bridge and the road was so mangled the traction control was killing power I found myself at max speed of 40 on the freeway until I pulled over and dropped it to level 2 no issues since.

Hi Uss, did Tassie three years ago on the Eldo and going back again next January. Only used level 1 in traction control and find it's fine even for dirt roads etc. Have used rain mode if it's bucketing down but probably spend 90% of time in Tourismo. Have a play with the settings and see how you find it. You'll love Tassie.
