Hi everyone, I'm a new member here as I just picked up my 2017 MGX-21 and I love it after only two days. It makes the most odd noise though when I stop the bike and it's cooling off. Coming from the engine area is a noise that is sounds like a quiet fog horn sounding thing that lasts for 2 to 3 seconds, then stops and repeats itself again after 10 seconds or so and keeps going it for upwards of 20 minutes after. It only happens when the bike is stopped and cooling off as far as I know, but I wouldn't hear it when it was running I doubt. Any idea what this is? It's the craziest sound I've ever heard come from a bike lol. I took a little video and posted a link on youtube to be able to hear it and help a brother out ;-

Thanks for any advice,
Musashi

Yes, it should stop but if fuel is warm it may start up later. My tip-over valve on the EV sounds like a cow mooing.

wow, I guess this is part of the "Italian Charm" lol I'm used to Japanese bikes, never heard such things lol. I did open the gas cap even though the noise had stopped and there was still quite a release of pressure and the cap was quite hot to the touch still. I live in Florida so it's quite hot here. ;-) thanks, I"m not freaking out anymore lol

Thank you. I read that link...sure is a known thing. I'm not handy in the slightest. I'm gonna put up with the noise for sure! Sad it's some idiot emissions thing. God that stuff drives me crazy.

If anyone cares, I rode last night about 60 miles with the gas I had put in the previous day, still a hot evening out, and when I parked it...no noise. I might be because I had less fuel in the tank when I parked it or it must just be the Pasta Gods decided the bike would make no noise when I parked it ;-)

Pasta Gods did it, just cause you expected it. Look up some of the Guzzi riders locally, some are handy about matters like this.
