Bike cut out yesterday and wouldn't start. Flat battery. Was recovered home after being jump started once then broke down again. All fuses and relays working, lights working, no error codes. With battery charged (13.4v) and holding, the bike starts and idles but there is no input from the charging system to the battery. Alternator was replaced last year. One thing I haven't checked is the belt drive. Do these snap? The bike has done 46k miles.

Check the belt first. Change interval is at 36K miles. If in tact, then check the fuse holders for the two fuses by the battery. I've seen good fuses, but failed holders.

Belt intact, no signs of wear, correctly tensioned too. Checking circuits for continuity, as well as fuses. They all look intact but will check them for continuity too. Any other suggestions anyone?

Do you have head lights when you start the bike. Did you look at the 30 amp fuse behind the right hand side panel just below the seat. You need to remove the panel to see it. That is where the fuse is for the lighting logic relay that controls the charging.

If the 30 amp fuse is not blown then you will need to take a look at this thread.

If there are no lights then there are two fuses involved.
The 30A one mentioned, and there is also a smaller one which controls the light logic relay coil. If this pops then again you get no charge.
Sorry, not got the wiring diagram in front of me to say which of the fuses this is.

No. There are two 30 amp fuses. One under the seat which is a main power fuse and one behind the right side panel under the seat.

According to the diagram I am now looking at, fuse B, 15A, supplies the coil for the light logic relay. If this blows, it will also kill the charging. Happened to a friend with an 8 valve Norge.
