I am thinking of lowering my Stelvio, by a shorter rear shock, and stuffing the fork tubes up the triple trees. I don't take my Stelvio off road, dirt ok but its a street bike. What's going to happen with handling, and tire wear? I am riding 15 to 20 k a year. Mike.

Shorter shock is best, and lowering the forks in the triples is good.
You really won't notice much in the handling dept, and tire wear would be the same of course.
I offer this shock and can get it shorter same cost; https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/suspension/products/gtm-mshock -- or almost any of these; https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/suspension/model_stelvio?sort_by=best-selling

You're going to scrape in corners easier, but that may not be an issue for you. Also the side stand might require some rearrangement, and the center stand (if fitted) will become almost impossible to use.

I've never liked the Stelvio for this reason, and I'm not that short.

I shortened my bike & did cut the side stand. As to getting the bike up on the center stand, yes it becomes an issue. I carry a small 2x4 piece of wood with me & can roll the rear wheel on it & then get the bike up on the stand easily. Maybe not the best solution, but it works well.

Thanks everyone, Side stand will be a piece of cake. Just got back from the Dragon , the pictures of me look like I am loosing my exhaust, but we know it's the center stand.
