My Stelvio started making this noise which is coming from the right side of the engine. I thought it might be a valve issue so I adjusted the valves on that side but it did not solve the problem. I filmed the engine running and put it on YouTube here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would pull off the breather plate behind cam and make sure the bolt in center of the drive is not loose. On the cam wheel is an oil slinger and could be that noise. Guess what happens next--- cam wheel comes off the pin!

Nothing there, keep looking. Check chain tensioner and hydro cylinder under cap. Could even be the roller tappets, not that I have heard any bad ones. I would be taking that side cam & rollers apart. That's me, though. It is not a normal 8V noise.

Thanks. I’m pretty new to the Guzzi. I took the cover off both sides to compare what’s normal. The chain and tensioner on the right side feels a lot more loose than the left. Don’t quite know how to get in there and fix it without taking the whole thing apart.

If you are interested in tearing into it and looking the procedure is in Technical Update #2009-003. One side is bout an hour, easier if you pull the fuel tank. Research that Tech bull, isn't that bad of a job.
