V7,2013 oil in the airbox getting sucked into the intake

Just below the throttle body intake is the breather hole from the head breather tubes. It looks like both hoses converge and breath into this hole
I glued a piece of foam air filter material over this hole overlapping it by several inches
I'm hoping the material will seperate the oil from the mist and keep the airbox cleaner
I'll have to occasionally squeeze the oil from the pad
Will it work???

OK, that sounds like something that could work maybe. I'll try to find some foam and try the same thing. If anything it would help that mist from spraying into the box. I think the oil will still get sucked up the front wall and into the intake hose up on top? What a weird situation.

That oil water separator is the only thing that maybe would work on this mess? Then you got all of this junk hanging all over the place outside in front of the air box, what a freak show.

Hi guys
Did anyone find a solution to this problem as I have now noticed oil in my airbox on my 2013 Stone?

Usually it is a matter of a little too much oil in the engine. That, combined with extended higher rpm use, can cause a mist of oil to be sent out the breather to the airbox. As long as it is not large amounts of oil and as long as your air filter isn't getting wet with oil I would not worry about a small amount of oil in the airbox, beyond making sure I don't put too much oil in the motor when I fill.
In rare cases it can be excessive, sometimes the rings allow blow by and that pressurizes the sump and forces oil out. But usually it is just putting a little too much oil in the engine.

Thanks for info, there is actually quite a bit of oil getting into the airbox
I dried it out this morning and after just a 90 mile ride there was a small pool of oil in the airbox again, not sure where to go from here with it!

As mentioned, make sure there isn't too much oil in the sump. If your oil level is at or above the "Max" mark on the dipstick it is too much. I would keep the oil level in the middle at the most.

Hi, I have tried the oil at different levels, doesn’t seem to make any difference. I even tried it with the oil level just showing on the tip of the dipstick but still the same result
I did a tour of Europe a few weeks ago, had to mop up oil out of the airbox every morning and keep topping up the oil every couple of days due to the amount it’s chucking into the airbox! Very annoying!!

On my breva I removed the oil breather going to the air box and re routed into a separate plastic bottle. every few months I will clean it out, only seems to collect about 10mls. Airbox stays dry and clean.

Yes that seems a good idea
It would keep the airbox clean but if the problem persisted as it is now I would be emptying a small bottle every few days!
It would be nice to have the system working as it should, especially with my very limited mechanical skills! Thanks for your input

Hi guys
Has anyone here done the airbox mod on the V7, (2013) to try and cure the oil in airbox problem?
After a few miles I have a pool in there and have to keep drying it out. I keep the oil level to the bare minimum, just showing on the dipstick but it doesn’t help, it’s still getting in there.
I recently had the head off to fit a new gasket and the valve stems were covered in burnt on oil, I think the oil mist is going into the airbox and then getting sucked into the intake and getting burned.
I’ve done a search on here but can’t seem to find anything.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA
