Hi, recently found out that the conrod bearings on my Griso are showing signs of wear and need replacing.
Bike has done 48,000 ks. Serviced approx every 5000ks by Moto Guzzi dealer since purchase as demo model.
Purchased 2014, 2010 model (12008V)
Very early for this to happen, thoughts please ???

Bike was making a strange sound, delivered to shop on a trailer. 500ks away from next service which was done first.
Then header pipe fixed as loose pipe internally. Also rollerized as showing signs of wear. Then sound still happening so sump dropped to find conrod bearing coatings worn. Moto Guzzi payed for parts required for rollerization.

Bike way past warranty, though be interested to know what MG think ??

There may have been enough contaminants from the flat tappets to cause excessive wear on the connecting rods. If the connecting rods are that worn, I would inspect the mains as well. There is a reason Pete Roper recommends flushing the engine when converting to rollers.

I have seen low mile flat and rollers have excessive wear on the conrod bearings, and even the rear main crank bearing/plate to warrant replacement. Don't know if it's just poor quality control or poor quality of parts. I'm closely monitoring them on my GTM builds.

Thanks for your response, much appreciated.
Will be picking up bike tomorrow. Shop owner says this should never happen.
Will ask what sort of warranty comes with new parts.... ???
