I've got no brake light with front or rear brake. Indicators and running light working fine.
Could it be a switch, or will the whole assembly need replacing?

Check fuse, if ok then make sure that you are getting power to the assembly. If you are, then possibly need a new assembly. If not find the fault in the wiring.

I Have a new V9 and have the same problem. I thought I had running lights and no brake light but it turned out the brake light came on with the running light so no difference when you hit front or rear brake. Turned out to be the rear brake switch is on all the time because the spacer fell out or it is out of adjustment. Trying to find a clear diagram of what is supposed to be there.

Brake switch is a pretty common issue, though I would check first the fuse and wiring.

My brake switch is fine. I am an electrical engineer, the rear switch is wired up normally closed which means that the switch is held open when the rear brake pedal is not pressed down and the switch is open. The problem is it is not being held open because a spacer is missing and it is always closed. Front switch is shunted by the always closed brake switch. If someone could post a picture of the rear switch/brake arrangement I would appreciate it. There must be a way to adjust when the switch comes on. Not seeing it, my dealer in Elk Grove is 3 hours away and they want an appointment. I just disconnected the rear brake switch and use the front one. Pretty lame for a new Guzzi. I have had 4 Guzzis since 1985, mostly Le Mans. This is my first new bike. My have things have changed...

Looking at a photo of the connector, it appears the there is a hex adjuster just north of the threaded connector. I presume that the switch body can be spun “apart” to the required length/offset, and then the hex adjuster is tightened down to keep it in place. Seems very standard and simple. Examine yours carefully and I bet this is how you adjust it.

Scott,

Thanks for your reply. I did see that lock nut and thought I could adjust it that way. Unfortunately, it was adjusted almost as far south as possible and is still not close to being actuated when the pedal is released. That is why I believe something is missing, there is no way to adjust that much slop out of the switch. Also, I have less than 1000 miles on it and the nut was still tight when I examined it. I think my next step is to take it to Monroes's in SF. They have always been helpful, wish I had bought my V9 there but they did not have any...

Thanks Again!

Something is amiss. We did a new switch replacement to my friend Mark’s Stelvio last year and it was cut and dry.

I’ll take a picture of my Stelvio when I get home.

Maybe that will help you out.

Also, post some pics of your setup. That always helps immensely.
