HI - i need to replace the seals on my LMIV -

as far as i can tell i just need to take off the wheel and then i should be able to get to the screws to remove the lower legs and replace the seals. How do i work the tops to replace the fluids? are there any tricks, i have fork dampening screw tops there. do i just unscrew them? any help greatly appreciated, i cant find much on google nor do my manuals help.

Cheers

Generally: raise the wheel, you take the caps off 1st to relieve the spring pressure and take the springs out, put a cloth over the caps as you do this so they don't fly off, they will be under a little bit of pre load, use your palm to hold them in place. remove the wheel and calipers. you can then either:
1. remove the forks and invert them to drain , then place them in a soft jawed vice and undo the internal bolt to separate the legs. or
2. leave the forks in place and undo the internal bolt, place a container to collect the fork oil then remove the forks and replace the seals.
take note of the position of springs, washer, spacers etc for orientation and re assembly.
I've never done Lemans seals so there maybe specific to them

thank you - i was a bit unsure about removing the caps, my old BMW had oil caps making the process very simple.
