V7 III Drop Speedo/Tacho Bracket

I get specular reflections into my eyesa bit frequently with the stock setup, a lower/flatter instrument angle helps reduce that.

However, I'm now wearing polarizing sunglasses most of the time when I'm riding in sunlit conditions so this problem has been mostly eliminated.

The glare isn't from the rings, it's from the clear plastic gauge covering.

By the look of it, it's an air temperature gauge. It could probably be mounted anywhere away from the motor.

Why aren't the mounting lugs used? Has it already been relocated from somewhere else?

Just fitted JW Speaker LED Headlight and now my Dart Screen does not fit.
Yes, once you fit the standard center mount bolt bucket, it won't. The older Dart V7 version (center bolt mount) might. I can get you those brackets I believe. Write me direct email.

Dart do a kit with brackets for the cb1100 earlier version, which work a treat with the j.w. Speaker headlights - I am away with work and when I get back I’ll post some pics, J

Hey neoeagle,

I would like to see a pic of it preferably a closeup.

I'd like a picture or two of those as well, as I'm in the same boat :)

Todd, have you verified that the twin gauge bracket will fill a V7 III with a Dart Marlin?

Hey all,
So I love my gauge drop (pics to come). I did some modifying and managed to keep the OEM cups. Looks very clean.

Question...does anyone have any experience with removing the chrome that surrounds the cups? I would like to paint them to match my painted headlight chrome surround. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone happens to be reading through here and knows the diameter of the gauges on the V7III, I’d appreciate if you were willing to share that knowledge. I’m looking for aftermarket housings or DIY ideas, but I’m not finding anything that looks like it would work. By my best guess, I’d need something around 105mm diameter, and I can’t find anything that big on the market.
