I've just discovered Twiggers of Loughborough have closed down. I've had 2 Guzzis from them and always been to them for service and MOT.

Now look for recommendations for a reliable and reasonably priced place to get a 2015 V7ii Stone serviced . I live near Newark/Grantham and work in Nottingham, so anywhere in that general area.

I see there's a new Guzzi dealer in Nottingham city centre, MSC, but the location fo their showroom alone suggests they may be expensive.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Michael, a bit outside your area but 3D Moto in Kingswinford have a good reputation: 20 High Street, Pensnett, Kingswinford, West Midlands, DY6 8XB.

Thanks. 87 miles for me. However, it's always good to know there's somewhere known to be reliable if ever I have a serious problem that needs a good Guzzi specialist. It may be worth the trip then. At the moment, just looking for a routine service and MOT.

I trusted Twiggers. I am fearful of being rpped off by one of the big shiny new dealers with massive multi-brand showrooms that seem to have sprung up when I wasn't looking.

Does anyone have any good or bad feedback about one in or near Nottingham, please?

It was my first ever post in this forum (duplicated in error) and the first response I got was from someone in the UK. Sorry to have troubled you.

Michael, this is a good place to ask for all things guzzi be it for info in UK or worldwide as far as I'm concerned. I was going to try out Twiggers myself for the next service on my Eldorado after a personal recommendation from Baldricks workshop, didn't realise they had closed. I have a multi franchise dealer only 5 Miles away from me (Wheels). They previously serviced my bike, did some warranty work and fitted parts but I didn't really feel a valued customer. What we need in the UK is a GuzziTech :)

Thank you. I have booked my bike into the MSC in Nottingham. It's closer than Twiggers, but I shall miss dealing with a proper old school bike shop where the owner himself works on the bikes, and rides them.

I tried to get my breva 1100 in to MSC at Nottingham to get throttle body balanced not interested, did not even return my messages on there site. Think you are OK for oil and filter or new bike. Difficult to find places that can do the technical work.

Balancing the throttle bodies is not a difficult task if you're a bit mechanically minded. For my Breva 1100 I made a manometer using clear pipe shaped in a "U" and secured it to a bit of wood 1.5m long and used ATF as the medium inside. Attach either end of the pipe to the throttle body, there are two blanking screws to remove. You have to make up a couple of adapters to connect to the pipe. Then its a case of setting it at tick over and 3000rpm by adjusting the relevant screws, you have to go back and forth a few times to get it right, then reset the TPS. Do not touch the "sacred screw" with the yellow paint on it.
