Here's my story: I have a Triumph Street Triple that feels like an extension of my body when I ride it. When I put the wife on it it feels like I'm carrying her on my shoulders so I was in market for another bike. Was traveling to dealer to sign papers on a Triumph Thunderbird Commander when I stopped by a local boutique dealer to waste some time until the Triumph dealer opened. That's when I saw the Eldorado. Bip, bam, boom now I'm looking to buy one. The dealer had a 2016 unit with bags, Agostini exhaust, fog, heated grips, windshield and engine guards for $14,999.00 (Demo with 451 miles). There's another one in North Carolina for just over $11,500 with none of the options. I don't like the leather bags so that's a problem as I know they are approx. $2,000 and the dealer wants to recoup his/her cost. I can have the one in NC shipped for $658.00 and add the options I like. My hesitation is that I really would like to support a local dealer but $3,500 is significant change for me.

You may not like the bags, but I think you should give them a try. I'm coming off of a Triumph Sprint 1050 (see my avatar) with the factory saddlebags. You'd be surprised at how useful they are.

Just gonna assume your Striple has as much storage as the Sprints replacement, A Griso, it has NONE. Love the M/G, but miss the Sprint.

Go for it....it is one of the most pleasurable machines you will ride....like Frank said above....you will not be sorry!!!

Don't sweat the idea of having a local Moto Guzzi Dealer. Chances are good that they will either be out of business or drop the MG brand within a year so you'll then be without a local dealer. Just assume that even if you do buy a bike from the local guy today, he won't be there in the future.

My "local" dealer is 100+ mile round trip. For BOTH MY Moto Guzzi and Triumph.
Honda dealers only 10 miles qnd drive ny them daily.

My "local" dealer is a 40 minute ride 1.5 hour ferry trip (on a good day) and a 1 hour ride away, whereas the Honda dealer (who I wouldn't give the time of day) is 8kms away.

I have two MG dealers within fifty miles. One has been a MG dealer for 22 years now, and has one of the best mechanics in the area running his shop. That is, happily, the closer one who is easier to get to.

But in general, if no MG dealer is nearby, MGs are easy enough to maintain that I never gave it a single thought. (Ducatis used to be like that too, but they've gone way too complex and annoying to work on in recent years for me.)

Why not buy the one with all the options then you can sell whatever you don't want to keep i.e. the bags, I don't think you would have too much trouble finding a buyer. Guzzi accessories are not cheap and you should end up well in front.
