RE: v7III 2020 Stone - P1607 Error Code - MI Engine Light - Reset:

From what I can tell, the only way to have it turned off or reset is via a dealership and P.A.D.S software, where they literally delete the error from the ECU. Seem ridiculous to have to pay for such a thing.

Does anyone know if Diag will take care of it?

According to my list, P0167 Throttle position error - misalignment between control and activation.

But if you're talking about the service icon, only a dealer can do it. That unmentionable program can't do it either.

Thanks Kiwi Dave. I've been able to to confirm you are correct about this particular error code, and the unmentionable software. I emailed Piaggio letting them know they run a an extortion business by not allowing individual owners access to the PADS software.

Just to see the dealer and have the code reset is around 200 Swiss Francs.

That's ridiculous. Really starting to hate businesses that forget which direction the "Thank-you" should go...

I sure hope that includes aa new extra-large tube of KY jelly!

Show me a manufacturer that now allows a user to reset the maintenance icon. I experienced the same issue with my new Indian FTR-1200S, support forums don't seem to offer an alternative.

Guzzi threw their toys out of the cot when I deciphered the code for the Cali 1400, and told everybody on this forum. After this, there was no opportunity to reset the maintenance indicator on subsequent models without factory software .

You are correct about that history. It doesn't make it right.

IMO this is a punch in the gut of being an "owner" e.g. buying a bike outright should mean once can repair it as one sees fit, or, in this case have access to the required software/tools to reset faulty errors.

Under current circumstances, one is held to the dealer and piaggio' extortion practice; hundreds of dollars to fix simple things.

Now, if the bike had a lean on it, sure I can understand the requirement to go through a certified mechanic. But if you pay cold hard cash to "own" the bike, you should have a means to access all the tools required to fix it.

Piaggio is an extortion business, plain and simple. You know there are some suits sitting around a board room making the bike cheaper, oinking "Profits, profits, profits.
