removing the transmission from my v-7

Trying to remove my transmission from my 2015 v-7, without removing the engine/transmission together. Can not find best methods, or anything regarding this in any of my manuals. Is there a manual available the covers this procedure. Or is removing the engine and transmission the only good method. Any advice on removal or any knowledge of a manual that covers transmission removal?
 
It is possible to "crab" the smallblock frame just like a Tonti bigblock. Basically take off wheel, swingarm, put a stand under rear of frame and take out trans bolt and cradle bolts to pivot back of rails down in back, take out trans.
Do a search on crabbing a frame, you'll get the idea.
 
I searched for "crabbing the frame" and this is the post that popped up. Can someone post a current pic that isn't 11 years old and long gone or a sticky on what exactly crabbing the frame looks like please? It's not in the workshop manual. Thanks.

Thanks! Wow that seems like a lot of work to replace a clutch. I've replaced clutches on Hondas and that seems like a walk in the park compared to Guzzis. I'm not quite to the point of replacing yet. I developed a squealing sound when decelerating to a stop. I blew the dust out of the clutch area last night, I'll take it for a ride this weekend to see if that fixes it. I've also noticed twice now on hot days when in stop and go traffic, the trans gets stuck in gear. Shut the bike off, start it up and all is fine again. Weird. It only has 6500 miles.

At that mileage you should not need a new clutch.
Make sure the clutch lever is properly adjusted, and watch out for a clutch lever adjustment that seems to be changing faster than normal cable stretch would dictate.
What year is it?
Certain years have a clutch issue, possibly from missing a part in the clutch mechanism from the beginning.
 
2007 Breva 750. I've owned it for 3 years now. The clutch seems to work great except for the two times I couldn't shift. I adjusted it once when I first got the bike but that's it. I hope it's not tranny problems. The plate itself seems pretty thick if that's what I'm looking at through the inspection port but I'm wondering about bearing issues more than anything. That's what it sounds like. Like I said I still need to ride it after blowing out a bunch of dust.

Some 750 Brevas have a sound like a bad bearing when the clutch is pulled in and some don't. We have never figured out why. I even replace the throw out bearing in one and that didn't cure it. Is this what you are experiencing?
 
Yes, doesn't even have to have the clutch pulled in, just slowing to a stop. Clutch pulled or not doesn't matter. I'm wondering if it's even the clutch and not coming from the front of the motor? Hard to tell when riding but just a theory. Not sure what the charging system looks like or any bearings or bushings up front that might give a squeal.
 
On all Guzzi's I've made it a practice to pop it into neutral at any long lights just in case it's dragging a bit. did u change the transmission fluid to a good quality synthetic of the proper weight? also if it's the hydraulic clutch like the 1100 breva did you flush it yet.
 
Well, maybe I'm one of the lucky ones but after blowing out a lot of dust from the clutch area I haven't heard the clutch squeal/screech sound anymore. I've put a few hundred miles on it since, both city and highway. Knock on wood, fingers crossed!
