This winter I plan to replace the valves, springs and collets, K-line the guides and get the seats re cut.
Question is what replacement valves to go with. I've used HMB Guzzi in Germany for most of my replacement parts, but their website says they regrind the stems because the oem finish is so bad, although I guess this shouldn't be a problem. I looked at Kibblewhite but I believe they're a heavier valve and I've read of a lot of premature wear on them.
So, looking for recommendations please.
All the work will be done by a very good head machine shop.

I agree that to K-line the guides is the way to go. However I don't believe in just throwing parts at a job. Once the valves are out, evaluate them. They may not need to be replaced just re-ground if even that. Also the valve springs may be OK as well. Just evaluate their tension. Also when you refresh the top, you may find that you should have done the piston rings too. What is prompting the tear down?

Hi John, my bike's 40 this year, all the mileage has been done on open bell mouths and I'd like to do preventative maintenance rather than wait for something to go bang. Price of the parts I'm replacing isn't that bad, considering the peace of mind it'll give me. Will check out the rings too.

It's been over 8 years since I rebuilt the top end of my Le Mans 2 , I used Kibblewhite valves . Compression has
remained stable and valve adjustments seldom see anything more than 1 to 2 thou variation from last time , and
that's with a Mega Cycle cam . Don't baby it at all , but must admit I don't run it to redline anywhere as often as
I did in my 40's :) . So don't stay up nights worrying about the valves ! Peter
