Hi I have a 2015 V7ii Stone, I would like to convert the OEM air box to a cone intake.

What is the size of the pipe diameter in mm?

Has anyone attempted this before? what was the result?

I guess it needs to match part #13, the intake hose

I'm thinking of something like this:

I will run a s/s pipe elbow, and have the cone coming out the right side under the seat.

any suggestions would be welcome

Thanks heaps

The throttle body is 38mm(1.50 in.), I would get the largest filter that will go in the space, oval maybe. Large capacity is best.

It is critical to have the opening at the filter flare/bell-mouth, as it does on the factory air box. The air box on most modern engines are very well designed/tuned. There is typically little to gain, and more to lose as the engine vents/breathes through the air box also. Another can or proverbial worms. You would absolutely need to have the fueling/ECU map revised. I've done a few of them to date. This is what you'll need; https://gtmotocycles.com/products/gt-motocycles-v7-v9-ecu-re-flash-tool

My GTM builds have a length tuned intake tract and bell-mouths inside the filter. It functions as the air box would.

Hi Todd, thanks for the info. I have the ecu re-flash tool installed.

What type of metal is the throttle body made from? I'm thinking of welding stainless flanges / v-band clamps for connect the stainless pipe (from the filter) to the throttle body.

Also in that pic:
* it looks like you used a 45° bend. would a 90° bend be too much and stuff up the airflow?
* what diameter of pipe is in that pic?

Cheers
David.
